Exposition
Snow condition
Compared to last weekend, the snow conditions below approx. 2700m have decreased significantly due to the heavy rain. On the other hand, some fresh snow has been added at higher altitudes above approx. 2900-3000m. In the meantime, there must also have been rain above 3000m (rain crust in the snow cover).
Snow quality
Good powder snow in the high Alps, with more or less wind influence depending on the exposure. A few slopes are still really loose and fluffy.
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
Smaller snow packs in the high Alps. Due to the rather mild temperatures, however, not (or no longer) susceptible to disturbance.
Overall impression
Made the most of the amazingly good weather and fine snow for another lift-assisted ski tour. Found some good turns and made the first summit of the season. Unfortunately, the forecast for the coming week(s) is not so great :/
