The snow conditions are now okay for mid-November and you can already ski some of the off-piste slopes at the top (beware of crevasses and sharks!). If you feel like it, you can even ski down to the valley station via the new ski trail, but there is still not enough snow to really have a great powder day. If you want to make your first powder turns of the season, I recommend taking older skis.

Risks

You could see some signs of wind in the snow cover, drifting snow on steep slopes should definitely be observed. Saw a small snow slab on the slope next to the tugboat on the Windachferner. Otherwise, a few loose snow slides in sunny terrain and some crevasses that were still open a short time ago have now been blown over. Away from the pistes, the danger of a crevasse fall should not be underestimated. There are probably some snow bridges due to the loose powder snow, which will not hold yet.

First powder turns of the winter. Only went to the glacier late in the morning, but it was definitely worth it as the clouds only started to roll in then, and thanks to the weekend and Sportscheck's testival, the glacier was pretty busy. But not really surprising for a weekend in mid-November.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
