Snow condition

30 cm fresh snow
Blown backs
Variations of snow cover

From Saturday to Sunday, 30 cm of snow fell on the Stubai Glacier. In some places, however, this was not enough to restore the snow conditions of 1.5 weeks ago. In many areas there is less snow than average, but with a defensive choice of route and the handbrake on, you can also ski a few variants in the upper area relatively safely.

Hard, pressed snow

Wind drifted snow

Strong wind influence, therefore pressed powder in places and bare in others. Mixed skiing.

Intensity: medium

Risks

Old snow problem
Cracking (When entering the snow cover)
Crevasse or fall danger
South

Wind intensity: High (40 – 60 km/h)

The strong wind has already formed a few impressive snow packs, some of which are better left undisturbed. Further down in the valley, the relatively mild temperatures are making themselves felt. Here, the first masses of snow came down from the typical rocky slopes.

Overall impression

Worse

Started with low expectations and was even able to make a few nice runs. The wind and the partly diffuse visibility were compensated by a small crowd and the first powder turns ?

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
