Not too bad for mid-November! Although the area doesn't open until December, the pistes have already been groomed, so you can get up and down the slopes quite easily. There's not much else to do yet, although some daring ski tourers have already been on the Ampferstein. It doesn't look so rocky on the shady slopes (still rocky enough), but there is hardly any snow in the lower areas away from the pistes, so I would still advise against off-piste tours.

Quite ok. The future slopes are already very rutted (moguls in steeper areas, there have certainly been 200-500 ski tourers a day for a few days), quite warm, therefore the snow is quite wet.

Risks

There were no snow slabs to be seen, but there were some (sometimes medium-sized) slides from very steep terrain. With the warm temperatures, the snow cover will probably solidify quickly, but at the moment I wouldn't expect the snow cover to be very stable.

Actually quite ok except for the crowds. But you have to keep busy somehow.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
