Skiing variants on the Stubai Glacier

Snow condition
Still very little for this time of year and for the glacier. There has been more snow here before. The foehn has picked up some again. Off-piste skiing is possible but not exactly easy - the hollows and gullies of the standard variants are passable. However, there are always stones sticking out of the snow.
Snow quality
Wind, sun and temperatures have turned the snow into a mostly hard surface. The only advantage: you can now see the stones that were treacherously covered with 5 cm of fresh snow a while ago. The whole thing rides OK in places. You can have fun, but only if you see the descents as training. In the lower parts of the area, you'll sometimes find a cap that makes training a little more challenging...
Risks
There is currently no LLB. Actually, all variants are so rutted that nothing should go off. However, we have seen a snow slab at around 3000 m (see photos). But you still have to watch out for rock contact and the associated dangers!
Overall impression
Top weather, good time despite modest conditions and a bit of tweaking of the technique. So 2 stars even without snow.
