Riding the gullies on the Aperen Pfaffengrat

Overall impression
Snow condition
Still unchanged until Monday, it has snowed a few centimeters, but only in snow-covered gullies 5 cm come together. Outside the glaciers and artificial snow slopes there is still virtually no snow (only visually). And otherwise it's mostly sharkslalom.
Snow quality
Monday's fresh snow is very cold and fluffy. But you inevitably end up on the hard surface and only in areas that have been blown in is it enough to make nice turns. In the gully mostly pressed powder
Risks
The snow cover consists of several weak layers on the north side. Angular crystals appear again and again. At the very top there were clods that were 3 cm thick, below which there were loose, angular crystals. This layer is very easy to disturb. However, there is currently not enough snow on this layer for a snow slab. But as soon as the next big snowfall comes, this layer will become extremely dangerous! The next weak layer is about 30cm deeper and, as the Lwd Tirol writes, can hardly be disturbed by a single skier. The information comes from a snow profile that we dug on the north side at 3100m.
Overall impression
Steep is awesome. Super gully but only 70% of it can be skied as there is too little snow at the top. The alpine skills were refreshed again. Ascent not very strenuous due to the firm snow conditions. There are better conditions for the descent but it was good preparation for the steep ski season.
