Snow report Sulden, Ortler, 04/02/2017
Königsspitze Ostrinne Top
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Just skiable as far as Sulden, glacier well snowed in, gully and summit flank skiable throughout, but overall certainly below average = poor snow conditions. The gully is only just skiable in one place, probably won't get any better. If you want, you should go tomorrow after the disturbance, Sulden will probably no longer be accessible from the weekend...
Snow quality
10 cm of powder from yesterday's precipitation on the eastern gully today, perfect. Summit flank extremely unpleasant, snow blown off, no varnishing because at 12 o'clock thick clouds in the summit area, difficult to ski, full concentration, no falling. Now 4pm best weather again...
Risks
Königspitze relaxed today, low avalanche danger.
Overall impression
Top, planned for a long time, today it went up and quite well overall, even if the summit flank was hard...Day tour from Sulden, start 4.20, summit 11.30. Just under 2000hm, the east couloir was quite strenuous for me up there...3 people in the east couloir, about 10 on the summit of Pizzini hut who also went back there.
