today was the coldest day in a long time, but it even snowed in the south and south-west steep slopes!

the lawi still warns of drifting snow and an old snow problem. yesterday, with winds >60km/h from the north, there was still some drifting, but it was too little to slide over a large area. the old snow problem can be easily avoided on the load-bearing crust. firn-covered stielst flanks should be skied rather carefully. there was a deeper collapse today.
Overall impression
the days are getting longer again from today. "that means winter has already lost, it just doesn't know it yet". with the current weather conditions, little will change here in the area in the coming days. fresh snow would be good. but it won't hold so well on the totally hardened old snow surface for the time being.
