Snow condition
Great, all descents down to the valley are possible. Although there hasn't been any fresh snow for a few days, the snow is holding up surprisingly well for the warm temperatures.
Snow quality
If you want good snow, you have to plan well and be diligent. The further north the better. The snow on the north-facing slopes is excellent. Super soft, light, perfectly bonded, approx. 15 cm. Real dream snow. On the south side, everything is frozen and hard in the morning and extremely soggy and wet in the afternoon. So the quality varies greatly depending on the exposure.
Risks
The LLB already warned this morning of wet and sliding snow avalanches due to the warming during the course of the day. The sun was actually much stronger than expected and warmed up extremely from 2 pm. As a result, the snow became wet and extremely heavy very quickly - unfortunately much sooner than expected. We had to reschedule the return leg of the tour accordingly. Some of the chutes on the south side had already gone down.
Overall impression
Brilliant, the run up was definitely worth it today! It's a shame there weren't more hours in the day, otherwise another run would have been possible.
