Snow condition
We have probably reached the maximum in terms of height this season. The distribution is quite uneven. If you compare it with other years, there are a few steep options that have never been done before. Other "classics" are not rideable from my point of view. Here I mean in the Eisenthaler, a few steep runs in steep terrain. Gullies etc. Basically
Snow quality
The location is okay to poor. You can be lucky or not. At the very top of the Eisental peaks on >40° north-facing slopes, the snow is still very good. But there was some wind and the snow there already has a lid. Good skiing with stable skis. Everyone with light touring skis was really struggling. We did two short runs, after which the motivation was rather lackluster.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: medium
Altitude: 1800 m – 2600 m
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
I didn't see any immediate dangers. I wouldn't have stayed on the mountain much longer. The dampness is progressing rapidly. The next few days will see a lot of unloading. The settling of the snow cover has progressed well. The drift snow in the high elevations is clearly visible. Makes a stable impression. Should already be a few days old - probably Thursday Friday. There were no signs of danger.
Avalanche activity
Wet loose snow avalanche
Altitude: 2400 m
Overall impression
Nice day in the mountains. Made 2 good runs, tested new skis. Will be skiing firn snow next week. :)
