Snow condition
... Below the tree line it's fine now. The last two days have brought about 50cm of fresh powder (finest quality) in the area. Above the tree line, however, there was considerable wind drifting and many blown-off spots. However, the amount of snow is sufficient for a free choice of route and rock contact is the absolute exception.
Snow quality
fluffy powder, just like in Canada. Hopefully it stays that way for a few more days.
Risks
Above the tree line it's still rather tense. This morning we experienced a blast on the Spieserlift in Unterjoch. There was quite a lot of powder down the slope. Below the tree line it was more relaxed. We didn't see any loose snow slides or snow slabs.
Overall impression
It was really worth going today, despite the rather modest weather forecast. Fantastic powder and perfect conditions in the area, yesterday the snow was still coming down horizontally from all directions at the summit, today there were even a few rays of sunshine and good visibility.
