Ski tour Füssener Jöchle with a short detour into the backcountry

Snow condition
I'd say we've roughly reached an average snow level for this time of year. Places exposed to the wind are completely free of snow. In the very dense forest and very stony steep terrain, I would still be traveling with the handbrake on, otherwise almost everything should be fine.
Snow quality
Overnight we got 5-10cm of fluffy fresh snow. Great in (the few) areas protected from the wind, as long as the crust underneath doesn't break. Whether it breaks or not changes from turn to turn - good for your skiing technique ;-) Sometimes it's also completely blown off and you ski directly on the partly breaking crust.
Risks
According to the LLB and my observations over the last few days, it's still quite tricky. I find old drift snow covered with new drift snow quite treacherous - that's why I chose a defensive tour today. Strong westerly winds all day which led to impressive snow plumes.
Overall impression
Beautiful scenery and a few good turns - really great for my first ski tour in the backcountry this year :-) Unfortunately, the rather tense avalanche situation seems to be here to stay...
