Snow report Tannheimer Valley, 01/25/2020
pow in täle again
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
basically the same as before the last snowfalls. to ski down into the valley you need a ski slope, even on the north side. there is simply not enough snow in the forest. from about 1300m there is enough for a free choice of lines.
Snow quality
still pow on the north side, partly also untracked, but a bit heavy in the meantime. all other expos are somehow capped and were not softened today due to the lack of sun.
Risks
rather safe. today also in north to east facing ridges, at 2000m, little drifting snow. from about 40°, there are still loose snow slides if you ski down narrow gullies. but these run out very quickly.
Overall impression
a three, because visibility was still good, free line choice was possible, no shark was caught and after 1 week, without fresh snow, there was still inexperienced pow.
