quite little fresh snow in the valley

Snow condition
if you take the a7 towards allgäu, it now looks white from kempten (800m) onwards. but probably not for very long. at 1100m there was about 20cm of fresh snow in windless areas. i didn't see the 40cm i had hoped for anywhere. but it's now enough to drive down into the valley. but there's still relatively little snow in the forest. we were on the way north and south today and not above the forest line.
Snow quality
until later in the afternoon there was still pow on the south side, but it was getting heavier and heavier. when the sun was weakened by the gathering clouds, a cap quickly formed. in the shade, however, the pow held up quite well.
Risks
it was blowing strongly from the west all day. there were huge snow plumes on many ridges. drifting snow is omnipresent and lies in huge packs in gullies and hollows. however, we couldn't trigger any packs, couldn't see any cracks and had the impression that it was quite safe below the tree line today. even in >35° terrain it still felt good.
Overall impression
unfortunately, far too little snow has fallen to change the initial situation decisively. in addition, it was very warm today +4°C, north-facing, at 1200m and quite windy. with the forecast rain and the temperatures rising even further, it will quickly get worse again. today, however, it was a beautiful day and the pow was very easy to ski with a free choice of lines.
