Snow condition

can still be described as excellent. there is an above-average amount of snow in the area. free choice of routes down into the valley is possible. southern slopes are slowly petering out near the valley and some south-facing forest roads are now also partly covered in snow.

Snow quality

similar to the lechtal and before the rain: it rained up to about 1,600m until sa. verg. above that, insignificant fresh snow has fallen. the cover, which has thus also formed on the north side, is (thank god) stable, often also in the forest and even down into the valley. on the south side, the cover softens very quickly and it becomes difficult and dangerous. above 1,700m you can still find good pow, but only in wind-calmed shady areas. the ridge layers are often blown and covered.

Risks

on the north side the situation is rather relaxed. there are not many gliding snow mouths and the low temperatures have prevented the snow from becoming soft. on the south side it is spring and that means an early start and an early return. the tirol 1er, the main problem in the avalanche report, is and remains gliding snow. be careful, sometimes you can't see from the valley which slopes above are not yet unloaded.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

much worse than on thurs. the nice pow is history, but the conditions are still above average. with the current high pressure situation, it will probably stay that way for some time.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
