Snow report Tannheimer Valley, 03/25/2017
Will not end ....super firn with plenty of fog :
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
No snow cover on the north side up to 1300 - 1400 meters altitude - until then skis must be carried from approx. 1600 meters altitude then closed snow cover
Snow quality
Super firn - yesterday night still clear as a star - this made for a hard blanket of snow in the morning, good firn during the day, the fog preserved the firn until the evening - below 1700m short sections with deep swamp. Otherwise super easy to ski
Risks
Relaxed - especially today, when the sun only made a brief appearance, the snow cover was not wet and heavy
Overall impression
Nice tip from PG summedum to tour to the Gaishorn - haven't been to the Gaishorn yet this winter. Classic after the descent through the summit gully (fog blind flight) small ascent to the Schnurschrofen with a worthwhile descent
