Exposition
Snow condition
in principle still absolutely sufficient, however, streams, potholes, blown off and now also apere backs, but from time to time, cause certain restrictions. for mid april, at this altitude, but top!
Snow quality
in expo-n, above approx. 1500m, still pow, however, in the meantime, it has been worn down over a wide area.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
some larger loose snow chutes, in expo-n, from terrain close to the ridge. in gullies, these chutes can also be larger. the fresh snow lies on the north side on a well-hardened old snow cover and holds relatively well. i couldn't trigger anything on the descent, in terrain at approx. 40°. on the south side, larger wet snow chutes have already gone down to the ground. it's spring now, after all.
Overall impression
it was quite cold today, also intensified by the rather unusual easterly wind. the first swells started at about 11am and then heavy clouds quickly gathered over the peaks. only a few scattered sunny spells. the visibility remained good, however. in expo-n the pow will hold, but skiing down is real work and when larger piles of wet snow are freshly snowed in, this also restricts the free choice of lines somewhat. in expo-s, it is essential to pay attention to the daytime warming.
