Snow condition
The ski touring season in the Tannheimer Tal is actually as good as over. But on some northern slopes above 1500 meters there is partly a continuous snow cover. From the Tannheim parking lot it takes about 30 minutes on skis or by bike to the first snow at approx. 1300-1500 meters.
Snow quality
Nice slushee / soft firn = summer snow (according to Martin) A bit sluggish but really nice to ride at speed.
Risks
A lot has already come down. LWK loads of snow walls that came loose due to the heat and thundered down. Otherwise very relaxed...
Overall impression
Relaxed after-work tour. End the day with a summit tea or hop smoothie. Nice descent with really fun snow to ride. A classic at this time of year.
Well - the winter / snow says good by in the Tannheimer Tal one tour is still over.
