The descent into the valley was possible without much contact with the ground. Above the tree line, a lot of snow was quickly blown away and transported by the wind.
Snow quality
You have to look for powder - through the wind = slab powder and hard pressed. There is still some powder in gullies and areas protected from the wind.
Risks
Hotspots are the drift snow deposits caused by wind in the last few days - but these are easy to spot.
Overall impression
For the beginning of December compared to the last few years - ok.
Of course you always want more - because the wintry look is mega!
