Brudelhorn (Goms) - Test of the freeride tour of the week -
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Not bad for the Upper Valais. Descents through the forest down to the valley are possible without any problems. With the next südstau, the Goms will certainly get a bit of a battering too.
Snow quality
Gone with the wind. Only in very wind-protected areas did the powder hold up, otherwise slab powder deLuxe. Marked by the storm in the forest, but still good to ride.
Risks
Fresh accumulations of drift snow were clearly visible. Otherwise, the snowpack structure seems to be a little better here than in Lower Valais.
Overall impression
A worthwhile tour. As already described by the guys from Helvetic Backountry, the descent from the Brudelhorn is beautiful cruising terrain and a great place to ski. We'll definitely be back when the conditions are better.
