Snow condition
The warmth doesn't seem to be able to harm the meter-high walls of snow in Bedretto. But this is probably more due to the fact that a few centimetres less per day is simply not noticeable with this amount of snow... Basically, there is still an incredible amount of snow, which finally makes the odd "unthinkable" line possible.
Snow quality
Well, the constellation of warm and windy conditions naturally doesn't have the most favorable influence on the snow quality. In any case, there is hardly any powdery snow on the north side of the Bedretto, but if you start early enough, you will be rewarded with spring-like powder conditions. On the south side of the Bedretto, you can still catch the odd powder turn.
Risks
The risk of dry avalanches tends towards 0, but the warming during the day has an even greater influence. If the snow cover is still frozen as hard as a rock in the early morning, this condition changes dramatically before midday, depending on the expo. Numerous large wet snow slides were sighted. Ground avalanches too.
Overall impression
A fantastic day! Sunshine galore, crystal-clear views, 3 fantastic peaks and 2 equally steep descents made this day a very enjoyable physical challenge with a total of 2500 vertical meters of ascent and descent. If you are now prepared for spring conditions, then you can look past the not-so-great snow conditions with fewer wounds...
