Plenty of snow everywhere! Sufficient snow at the bottom (see photo of the bus) and windswept above the tree line. Today we are on a tour between 1100 and 1700 m. All roads are cleared, but sometimes only half the track ;)
Snow quality
Well packed, describes it best. But there are still faceshots - not as fluffy as they probably were at the weekend under persistent snowfall, but still bottomless. The snow is speckled with branches and this magical woody tree moss in the everyday strong winds
Risks
The SLF issues a 3. We don't see any major slides on the ascent or descent, but we only stay below the tree line due to visibility, snow and wind. Above, the freshly fallen snow is carried far and wide and is sure to form some loose drift snow accumulations over the next few days.
Overall impression
Powder from top to bottom en masse!
Steep forest with snow-covered pillowland, nothing going on and "wild weather" with wind and then snowfall again. Legs were burning after 1200 m of ascent and descent through the snow, which became heavier at the bottom. Fantastic day! Certainly good to have done before Airolo opens its gondolas for season ticket holders ;)
