Snow condition

4 von 5 Sterne

Extraordinary! However, only from about 1600m on the north side. All'Acqua is therefore once again a suitable starting point for all tours in the rear Bedretto valley. At higher altitudes, the southern snowstorms have done a great job. The mountains are bursting with snow and the spines characteristic of large amounts of snow can be observed on very steep slopes.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne

Well, 4-5 stars used to be... Unfortunately, the long absence of fresh snowfall in combination with the presence of wind has of course had anything but a positive effect on the snow quality. It is therefore very variable. Below 2000m, the snow cover is even spring-like and hard, but grippy. Above that, you'll find everything a skier's heart could possibly desire. Nevertheless, there were also a few nice powder turns.

Risks

Moderate, main danger from fresh and older drift snow on all expos above 2400m. We only observed very small, superficial, hard drift snow layers that were easy to trigger. The necessary caution should therefore be exercised in very steep, exposed terrain.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

The combination of 3 peaks and 3 couloirs naturally makes for a positive impression. Unfortunately, the very variable snow quality clouds this picture considerably. A decent dump is needed again in Ticino. Good to know that at least the base has been laid.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
