Altitude
1600 - 2400m
Avalanche warning level

Exposition
Snow condition
You can ride down into the valley without damage, but there is a lack of support in the forest. Sufficient at the top, but not exhilarating.
Snow quality
Above the tree line, the north wind has pressed most of the snow, but there is still a bit of powder in the sheltered areas. It's still powdery in the forest, but there's not enough base to ski off the main corridor.
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
Saw a few cracks today, but Windslabs also went down on the old snow. Based on the warning about old snow in the bulletin and the pictures of Val Piana in the AvaBlog (always a good read!), I would still judge high, steep and north with caution. However, there have already been a few steep sections, as the Ticino skier said so nicely today: "Always Canalone, always!"
Overall impression
More like a bit of exercise therapy on the way home. Keep sacrificing at the altar of Ullr, then maybe it will work out in the new year, happy new year!
