Descent to valley (to 1600 m)
Descent through forest

Better than in the rest of the Alps. All valley descents are open and rideable without interfering stones and grass.

Firn
Powder snow
Jelly snow

Good firn from early noon, still powder snow on the north side. The off-piste terrain is now very rugged.

Risks

Crevasse or fall danger
Diurnal warming

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

Avalanches can still be dangerous. The last snowfall was heavy with a lot of wind, and fell on hard layers that still act as a weak layer. Not only on the north side as a snow slab, but also wet snow avalanches break off on this layer and sometimes become large (see photos)

Overall impression

Equal

Not much fresh snow but good snow conditions. There is still some powder snow in the north-facing gullies, firn can also be found depending on the expo and above 3000 m soft snow types still predominate even if it is a bit rutted. The north-west-facing descent over the Grand Motte glacier is a dream. The crevasses are just covered enough and the snow is still excellent. This is my first CR after a long upload break. I hope it's working smoothly again by now

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
