A lot of free water in the snowpack due to the rain yesterday (in some places quite high up, probably over 2000m at times). There was only fresh snow at the very end of the rain period from about 1400m (?) and that only in the range of a few centimeters. Occasionally you could see deposits of wet snow avalanches from extremely steep terrain.
Overall impression
Yesterday it rained for hours and sometimes quite heavily. Our expectations for today were therefore subdued. On the north-east side, however, we still found reasonably acceptable conditions. In sections (especially in the sparse larch forest, where the snow had fallen relatively sheltered from the wind), the heavily soaked snow was even quite enjoyable to ski. Of course, we would still like to see a sustained cooling and, if possible, dry fresh snow on top of the still abundant old snow. If the forecast snowfall limits of around to below 1000m are maintained, the main ski terrain (here - depending on the forest level - from around 1400/1500 upwards) should improve significantly.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
