Too much of a good thing in Chiemgau
Snow condition

Overall impression
Snow condition
I can't remember such snow conditions in Chiemgau, especially at low and medium altitudes. Even in the low valleys of the foothills, contact with the enemy is almost unthinkable. There's a frightening amount of snow at the top anyway.
Snow quality
Up to 900 - 1000m, slow poplar, above that very fine and bottomless, protected from the wind, on open areas wind-pressed powder into which you sink less (ankle to ski boot). Going beyond the forest makes no sense at the moment due to snow conditions and avalanches.
Risks
Last night's accident on the Teisenberg (see Bavarian LWD) is very thought-provoking and calls for extreme caution. Today we decided to avoid the forested summit slope at around 30° and instead went for a practice session in the flat alpine terrain.
Overall impression
Yesterday was stormy from a medium level and extremely inhospitable, today the weather is somewhat calmer, but still windy, with snowfall lasting for days. In these conditions, the possibilities in this area are drastically limited. Nevertheless, two fun descents in safe terrain, just fine. Maybe I'd rather go tobogganing tomorrow
