Ski tour in the Chiemgau mountains on the Hochries in worse conditions than yesterday on the Geigelstein

Snow condition
The wind was stronger in the open areas than in yesterday's area. Less has also fallen overall. In areas sheltered from the wind there is now a good 50cm, otherwise it is very irregular. Yesterday we were able to accelerate a little and were only slowed down by the poor visibility. Today it was only possible with the handbrake on. You very often hit the ground. The last few meters to the Hochries summit in the mountain pines are not worthwhile. You can safely turn around before that. You need a lot more here.
Snow quality
Still very good. Has settled more and more. But is still nice and dry. Almost better than yesterday. I was surprised about that. Shouldn't change much over the next few days though.
Risks
The steeper gullies don't work anyway and I wouldn't go there either. The best turns were also in flatter areas. If you choose the normal route and don't experiment, the danger should be manageable. Keep an eye out for drift snow. There were various signs of wind. The wind died down and drifting snow was overlaid by snow without bindings...according to the LWD Bavaria.
Overall impression
Started with certain expectations after yesterday. Unfortunately, they were not fulfilled. It can be so different in a small space. 10km as the crow flies from yesterday's tour. You can see the limits of Snow Grid. Stone skis are an advantage. The trail is cleared as far as Doagl Alm, but you can still ski down. Additional info: the trail in Samerberg has also been prepared, Hochrieshütte is closed until further notice. There is still a lot to do to get things going.
