Geigelstein - Durchwachsen, aber schöne Abfahrt

Overall impression
Snow condition
There has been a lot of fresh snow over the past week. Today, too, there was a very gentle snowfall. There is a good base down to the lower elevations and some fresh snow on top, which is estimated to be 20 to 30 centimetres thick.
Snow quality
On south-facing slopes and sections of the slope, the snow was slightly frozen over, on the shaded side very soft, loose and light. The wind-exposed summit has blown off in places. Due to a large number of ski tourers, some of the slopes are heavily tracked.
Risks
The avalanche situation was moderate. However, there is a considerable avalanche situation in the Tyrolean Alps at higher altitudes (1800m). We did not notice any avalanches during the ascent and descent. More recently, there was one avalanche with 2 total casualties in the Leitenrinne, but the outcome was fortunate.
Overall impression
A great day's skiing with changeable weather and a great descent. Always worthwhile ;)
