A tragedy in the Bavarian foothills of the Alps

Snow condition
You can still get up and down from 1100 m in a westerly exposure. "Thanks" to the rain and temperatures that are constantly above 0 °C, the snow cover has reduced by 20 cm in 30 hours (data from the measuring station). Bravo! The possibilities are getting fewer and fewer, even east-facing descents no longer look worthwhile compared to last weekend. The pictures document the altitude range from approx. 1300 m to 1700 m. Crampons are recommended for the ascent. I was able to observe some dramas on the ascent today.
Snow quality
I skied down the south side at around 10 o'clock. Where there were no old tracks, it was fine for a few turns. The time window is probably very manageable as the snow cover is not yet frozen through. In the shade, a frozen surface where piste skiing is probably more fun. Horrible!
Risks
The snow cover, which is quite thin in places, is wet right down to the ground. Sliding snow avalanches are released from steep meadow slopes. You should be careful there. I didn't look into the leeward terrain today due to the modest snow quality. In general, you shouldn't be out too late with the temperatures. LWS 2.
Overall impression
+: the weather was fine and I was alone on the summit for almost 20 minutes and the snow was softer on the south side.
-: the snow conditions are bad and with the coming rain they will be even worse.
