Skitour Heimgarten
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Sufficient snow from the parking lot (20-30cm at the bottom, lots of snow at the top). The last few meters to the summit are blown off, but with a defensive driving style, rideable without contact with stones or slopes.
Snow quality
Snow frozen through at the start at the bottom, further up (around 1000m) a little softer (in the evening it was -4° in the valley, but still +1° on the mountain) from about 1300m on the north side well-compensated old snow, sometimes even powder
Risks
According to the LLB, 1 in the morning, rising to 2 during the course of the day, the snow was well frozen on the ascent and only superficially soft in sunny spots on the descent in the afternoon. Further away (facing east) an old fish mouth could be seen. However, this was not in the area of the ascent track. In this respect, it posed no danger. Well-frozen snow in the forest, only superficially thawed in the afternoon due to the north-northeast exposure. Snow cover not yet frozen through.
Overall impression
Ski tour from Schlehdorf to the Heimgarten.
The internet often mentions broken crust, so I had no other expectations. As it had been very warm for a few days, I had also expected a non-bearing crust on the north side. The snow was much better than expected. Still frozen and bearing at the bottom in the morning, compensated old snow further up, powder in places and even room for untracked turns on the descent.... In contrast to the ascent from Ohlstadt, the ascent track was very easy to follow throughout, as there are probably fewer hikers/snowshoe hikers here. I will now hike this route more often. This was the first time for me.
