Feinster Powder im "Hirsch" am Breitenstein, trotz schneefreiem Tal!
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
No snow at all in the valley, from the start of the Geigelsteinbahn piste to just above the Wuhrsteinalm wet snow with a partly hard surface. From the summit ascent to the Breitenstein 10-20cm of powder snow and a well consolidated base (approx. 1m) In the downhill gully significantly more fresh snow
Snow quality
When there was snow, it was really good. At higher altitudes it was dry powder snow and a little bit of a harsh surface without a lid, and at lower altitudes it was relatively good to ski through the harsh snow.
Risks
No danger even on steep slopes up to 40°, only the surface of the fresh powder was minimally covered. On the ascent, you noticed a clear settlement under heavy accumulations of drifting snow in steep areas, so enjoy with caution.
Overall impression
Despite the lack of snow and the slopes below, you will definitely be rewarded with fantastic conditions in the upper sections.
