Moderate in the valley on our south side, and the wind has blown west expos tw except for grass. Nevertheless, everything was still doable.
Snow quality
A plate of color. Rapidly changing local conditions depending on the wind and sun: Ice floes, wind press, 10cm of soft pow on hard old snow in the lee (especially east-facing slopes).
Risks
Looked like wind drifts today, but not very heavy. Didn't see anything new in the sliding snow, but it was also dark soon...
Overall impression
Light and shade: Pow and ice, but sun and cheese dumplings with beer. That's why today is an extended and worthwhile tour.
