Snow condition
Today we started from the valley again. The ascent on a shady forest path is still halfway okay, but the fun is over on the descent from around 900 m. At the moment, the snow conditions in the Mangfallgebirge correspond to the long-term average. Terrain traps are slowly but surely reappearing.
Snow quality
Departure at 9 a.m. in a south-easterly, easterly direction was good for firn. I wouldn't leave much later at the moment. In the morning, there was a stable layer of harsch that softened very quickly in the sun. On the rather shady forest path towards the valley, there was a mixture of crushed harsch and slush.
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
Classic spring conditions, start early and finish early. There have already been a few wet snow avalanches. LWS 1 in the morning, LWS 2 in the afternoon.
Avalanche activity
Wet snow avalanche (small)
Altitude: 1400 m
Overall impression
Nice spring ski tour and let's see what the temperatures and radiant nights will do over the next few days. With the strong sunshine, the snow cover will reduce quite quickly.
