Fine May powder in the foothills of the Bavarian Alps

Snow condition
After I knew from Wednesday where the best old snow cover was, we purposefully fixed this area with fresh snow today. From 1100 m we were able to start directly from the car at 07.30 am on a layer of fresh snow of around 10 cm. As the altitude increased, so did the amount of fresh snow, so that at just under 1700 m there was around 20 cm + x. Today it would be 3 stars with knowledge of where the best base is, but with rising temperatures it will probably decrease again quite quickly, so I'm sticking with 2 stars.
Snow quality
Beautiful cold powder and at this altitude in May, what more could a skier's heart want? Untracked terrain in powder from top to bottom. Towards the starting point, the snow got a bit heavier in the morning compared to the top. Complaining at a very high level. For May there are a full 4 stars, as you hardly ever felt the old snow cover.
Risks
The fresh snow fell on a damp surface and was very well bonded with the old snow cover on the meadow slopes. In our area today there was hardly any wind in the precipitation. Ridges exposed to the wind were very well covered with snow today compared to high winter. The warm impulse in the coming days should be viewed with caution. There is still quite a lot of snow and not all slopes are unloaded yet.
Overall impression
Conditions like in high winter, nice cold powder, no people, untracked terrain, it's hard to believe that winter is coming to an end.
