Snow condition
Despite the very warm temperatures, there was still plenty of snow above 700 m. On top of that, there was another 5 cm in windless areas during the night from Monday to Tuesday. The "light" breeze (I heard the elephants at the zoo were kiting with a stamp as an umbrella) has blown areas close to the crest almost to the ground, so there's quite a lot in the lee.
Snow quality
+ 8°C on Monday, - 10°C on Tuesday night - do the math. The top feels more stable than any World Cup slope, with a few centimetres of powder on top. Quite nice, but not a hit with the frozen tubers.
Risks
I saw a few slides in steep forest areas on the ascent, but they probably came off during the course of Monday. In the leeward area there were a few small snow slabs.
Overall impression
Still good for December in the foothills of the Alps. However, the warm temperatures have already had a significant impact on the snow. Today's storm and the warm night probably didn't make the situation any better.
