Snow condition
Start possible at 1100 m. From approx. 1400 m, snow conditions make skiing possible in sheltered areas. The ride towards the car is no fun on the last approx. 300 m and you have to reckon with stone contact on every turn. In the open terrain, the wind has almost blown away wind-exposed areas. There is actually only snow in the lee and wind-protected areas. The heavy rain until 24.12. in the early morning (only then did it start to snow) has more or less led to a restart of the snow situation at lower altitudes.
Snow quality
Not bad from about 1400 m but on a base that was too thin. I had a good nose and was rewarded with some powder turns. 3 stars at the top, 1 star at the bottom, making 2 stars.
Risks
On my Wiesntour today, the main danger came from snow-covered obstacles. I occasionally came across some sleet in the advanced ascent on the shaded side. Let's see how it develops in the coming days with the rise in temperature. Due to the rain, you should be on the lookout for sliding snow avalanches from very steep terrain. You should also keep an eye on the drift snow. Today, the few/small danger spots were very easy to recognize.
Overall impression
After the start, it was still quite nice. By the time I got back to the car, it was a pretty lonely morning.
