Snow report Upper Black Forest, 01/03/2014

Armselig ist noch schöngeredet! Klarer Fall für Null Sterne. Viel Regen auf wenig Schnee… Draußen-sein kann ekelhaft sein: Schneeregen, Wind und Wärme, die sich kalt anfühlt.

Very bad. Snow on the north side from 1100-1200. A little higher on the south side. There is still about 20-35 cm of soaked old snow at high altitudes. But already broken through in places... The oracle was right: minus 20 plus 5-10, that's a clear minus. It's supposed to snow again on Sunday. More cosmetic, of course...

Beyond any quality. Simply subterranean bad. Yikes...

Risks

With the soaked snow, I would recommend a great deal of caution, provided there is someone who still wants to watch the tragedy. The high winds of recent times have carved enough drift snow onto the edges of the cornices.

It's all still possible this winter. But at the moment, you can safely forget it. But also completely. Even the slopes that are still open look terrible.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
