Overnight, there was record-breaking snowfall of up to 5 cm as far as the Rhine. Instead of starting right from the front door, this time we headed towards the south side of Belchen. The start was at about 800 meters. Snow depth approx. 15-20 cm. The amount of fresh snow on the mountain felt less than in the valley, where it had probably accumulated a little.

So-so at the bottom, so-so at the top. I didn't get really high today. But it gets better with every meter of altitude and is still a lot of fun. Even Junior had far fewer problems downhill today than on the last tour and is already looking forward to the next one.

Risks

The fresh snow has fallen with little wind. Overall, the snow has settled well and makes a stable impression. As my son was with me, I was only out on absolutely uncritical terrain today.

An old Alemannic proverb says: In a good winter, there can't be a day without a conditions report from the Black Forest.
If no one else twitches, then I'll stop :)

Not a spectacular tour, but hey...it's just fun to show the youngsters the world away from the lifts and to see them having fun. It goes up at a snail's pace and they nibble from every tree on which there is snow (i.e. every tree :) ) ... a wonderful way to slow down on a public holiday.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
