Snow condition
In the middle of the Black Forest there is about 40cm of snow at 900m above sea level, below that a start is possible from 800m above sea level, since yesterday about 5cm have been added without wind influence and that down to the valleys.
Snow quality
Here, there is a crust of melted snow above the tree line. Above that, the new 5cm of fluffy powder snow. Where the layer comes from is a mystery to me, it was neither warm here nor was the sun really visible the last few days.
Risks
Not relevant here, no drift snow, no cornices. The greatest danger comes from stones and tree stumps.
Overall impression
A little exercise therapy on the local mountain today. Contrary to my expectations, there were also a few other people skiing, but it was mainly tobogganing here and there was a lot going on.
Unfortunately, there are no pictures thanks to a forgotten smartphone.
