Pretty good overall. Start at 800m at the Mehliskopf parking lot. Next to the piste, the grass comes through in a few places at the bottom. At the top at 1000m/1100m there is a lot of snow. At one point the stick was 80-90cm deep.
Snow quality
Below 900m, the snow is rather heavy on the south side. Above that it is very good skiing even if the snow is unfortunately no longer really fluffy. There is still some untracked snow in the forest, otherwise there is already a lot of broken snow.
Risks
Everything should be safe, it's all pretty flat here anyway ;-) It was blowing pretty hard at the top today, especially on the Hornisgrinde. You can see some snow drifts there.
Overall impression
A nice day overall, although the tour is more reminiscent of ski hiking than ski touring in parts, with frequent on/off skins included.
However, you have to be satisfied if you can walk at all in the northern Black Forest.
Early arrival is recommended, the first parking spaces were already completely full by 08:30.
