Snow condition
I can understand the excitement about the first real snow in the Black Forest, but objectively speaking I don't think the snow conditions in the higher altitudes are really good yet and I'd like to put the brakes on the euphoria a little. Sure, it has snowed all the way down and everything is white (hence the three stars), but the higher you get, the less snow there is and there are some brown patches on the Stollenbach. You can't really think about carefree riding in the forest yet. 50 cm is enough even on flat meadow slopes, but otherwise unfortunately not yet. Conclusion: Very usable base and nice that it's finally white down to Freiburg again, but nothing more (yet).
Snow quality
Quite heavy on Saturday, then usefully fluffy on Sunday. But it could be even better!
Risks
Lots of wind on Saturday - it's better to avoid well-known slopes.
Overall impression
Snow all the way down: Looks good, can also be ridden acceptably. But it's even better (especially further up)!
