Black Forest romance in black and white
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Start at just over 700 m without any problems. It's not much down there, but it quickly becomes more at the top. At 1250 there are 50 to 90 cm, a solid base.
Snow quality
At the bottom the expected Glopp, from 800-900 hm despite the warming still nice 5 cm of fine powder snow on a creamy base. It was fun!
Risks
No avalanche danger on today's flat tour. The snow cover makes a well-consolidated and homogeneous impression.
Overall impression
Due to the forecast warming and the fog, we started with rather low expectations. But we were rewarded with a new, beautiful and, by Black Forest standards, downright long tour and were able to experience some amazingly good turns in and below the fog soup. A worthwhile tour all in black and white.
