As was to be expected, there is incredibly little snow up there. Lift operation is out of the question. At least you can walk up to the Belchenhaus on a closed blanket of snow, up to the summit it is then a spit-route run on a few white patches.

Snow quality

As was to be expected, it was bad. There was a section about 50 meters long where some snow had accumulated. There it felt like winter for a very brief moment. Otherwise, a thin layer of hard snow from top to bottom.

Risks

Danger is more likely to come from stones or drunken tobogganing couples in love. Avalanches are out of the question.

Thank you dear moon for getting so much out of this frustrating pseudo winter landscape. The doubts that there will be good conditions in the Black Forest this winter (at all) are increasing day by day.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
