It has a relatively good base, at least better than at the weekend in Switzerland at the same altitude. On the not-so-new fresh snow of the last few days, it has a nice 3cm cover that breaks immediately under load.

You look in vain for really nice fresh snow. I still had fun, because the thin cover breaks immediately and you can get down nice and relaxed. I've had much better snow in the Black Forest, but somehow I'm more frugal with snow on my doorstep...still only 1 star.

Risks

The snow cover seems stable to me and there just isn't much of the white stuff lying around. So the avalanche situation is rather uncritical.

It was only a short afternoon tour, but it was always nice. I like the short tours in the Black Forest, no matter what the snow conditions are like. Of course, there's no comparison to the real mountains further south, but it's only 10 minutes from the front door....

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
