Wow, something's gone since Sunday. The storm, rain and heat have really eaten away at the snow cover and there are now large green-brown areas right up to the summits. There's still a good 40-50 cm between the trees, maybe a little more in areas sheltered from the wind.

We expected little and got little. Lumpy, warm, slightly firny, Sahara sand-colored snow from last week, trampled down by crowds of people. At least it makes the descent a little more challenging again.

Risks

Unfortunately, I can't say much about this. It was dark and the cornices were not visible. Instead, more and more was sticking out of the ground, which can be dangerous for bones, ligaments and material.

This was probably the worst tour of the winter in terms of snow quality. Fear of the impending end of the season in the Black Forest drove us out again. It was nice to get some exercise, nice to be all alone on the mountain, but it felt like the end was near....

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
