There is snow. The amount is considerable for this winter. Compared to the last few years, it's just puny. After all, about 20cm of fresh snow has fallen on a base of about 20mm.
Snow quality
Amazingly good. There was no wind, rain or heat to spoil the fun. The last few meters had a slight crust because it was quite warm during the day. But overall nice and easy.
Risks
At the moment, I estimate the risk of infection from the coronavirus to be higher than the risk of avalanches in the Black Forest. But be sure to watch out for sharks.
Overall impression
Very nice after-work tour on the Belchen. At last there was a reasonable amount of snow again without wind and without the rain immediately hitting it again. Definitely the best tour in the Black Forest so far this season.
