The start was from Stollenbach with minimal footing. Larger stones were still sticking out of the snow cover and this hardly changed until the toter Mann. I continued on to the Feldberg and Seebuck to push there. The snow around the Feldberg summit is also rather sparse. It's okay where the snow has collected. Otherwise you sometimes come across blown-off rain crusts, sometimes stones, grasses or a little powder.

This morning at 7am the snow was still cold and fluffy. During the day the snow quickly became heavier and after closing time on the way back above 1200m it was okay, below that it was quite wet.

Risks

On the way back, I talked to some ski tourers and they observed a few avalanches. I didn't see or hear anything myself.

Long, busy day on the Feldberg. Early in the morning, everything still quiet and untouched. In the evening, almost everything chopped up and still a lot going on. Best conditions of the season so far, but a far cry from the good days of recent years.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
