Everything that gets a lot of sun is slowly but surely drying out or is already bare. Only the typical holes á la Zastler still have a decent snow cover. There is certainly still some time to go here if the rest of the snow doesn't come down as an avalanche in the next few days. Even the easiest standard tours such as Toter Mann - Feldberg are no longer feasible, as there is (almost) no snow left even in the shady forest.

If the little snow freezes at all at night, it melts very quickly and then quickly becomes rotten so that the skis hardly ski at all. Not good.

Risks

The snow cover is soaked and the steep slopes are very well blown in. The risk of wet snow and ground avalanches is certainly high.

The second worst winter of the past 20 years is - finally - over here. However, precipitation with cold temperatures is actually forecast for next weekend. Let's see what happens.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!

Thank you for your contribution to the PowderGuide project!
