Snow report Upper Black Forest, 03/21/2021
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Altitude
1100 - 1500m
Avalanche warning level
moderate (2)
Exposition
Snow condition
Over 800/900m are possible in all Expos tours in the Black Forest. Some stones and pasture fences are only just exceeded.
Snow quality
Still powdery 30-40cm in wind-protected or shady exposures. Really great at the end of March, we haven't had that for a while.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Could only provoke loose snow slides in extremely steep terrain. Otherwise no danger signs identified.
Overall impression
Tomorrow again, then the warmth will return. As the morning progressed, more and more people came up the mountain, it seems that many have not yet finished with winter sports.
